Her Eminence Sakya Jetsun Chimey Luding Rinpoche, with great kindness, will bestow the Vajrapani Bhutadamara empowerment at Sakya Tsechen Thubten Ling at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 15, 2017.  Sakya Tsechen Thubten Ling is located at 9471 Beckwith Road, Richmond, B.C.  For information and registration, visit their website at sakyatsechenthubtenling.org.

Housing will be available at Sakya Kachod Choling on San Juan Island for a few of the students who take the empowerment and wish to accomplish a one-month private retreat.  Sakya Kachod Choling is not offering a group retreat for this practice in 2017.

In the words of Jeff Watt, Director & Chief Curator of Himalayan Art Resources:

“In Vajrayana Buddhism there are the three famous bodhisattvas which represent the essential characteristics of all the buddhas of the ten directions and three times. Manjushri represents wisdom, Avalokiteshvara compassion and Vajrapani power. Vajrapani as caretaker and guardian of all the Tantras is the special deity for removing the various types of obstacles that can arise during intensive practice. Within the Sakya School in general and the Lamdre Tradition in particular Vajrapani in the form of Bhutadamara is the foremost practice for removing obstructions on the path of a practitioner.”
