Sakya Kachod Choling is very happy to announce that Her Eminence Sakya Jetsun Chimey Luding Rinpoche, with great kindness, will bestow the White Tara empowerment this summer and place into retreat those who wish to perform the one-month White Tara retreat.

This summer marks the 30th anniversary of the blessing by Jetsun Kushok of the retreat center’s land on San Juan Island.  Over the years ahead, Sakya Kachod Choling will be marking its various 30th anniversaries, celebrating its early history, including the creation of the Washington nonprofit corporation, Sakya Society, in 1988; the dedication of the stupa by His Holiness the 41st Sakya Trizin in 1989; the building of the gompa between 1989 and 1991; the painting of the shrine room sacred murals by Tsering Dorje between 1993 and 1994, and culminating in 1995 when His Holiness bestowed the precious Lamdre teachings and empowerments at Sakya Kachod Choling and in the town of Friday Harbor, Washington.

Jetsun Kushok has directed that, in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the blessing of the land, a one-month White Tara retreat will be performed and that the merit arising from the performance of this retreat shall be dedicated to the perfect health and long life of His Holiness the 41st Sakya Trizin.

Time with Jetsun Kushok is precious and retreat space is limited! We encourage you to register as early as possible. Contact skc.retreat@gmail.com or Call 360-378-4059 with any questions.
