White Tara Teachings and Short Retreat

White Tara is a female buddha who bestows long life, clears obstacles, and guides us on the path to liberation. Lama Ngawang Tenzin will provide instructions on: arranging one’s shrine, the sadhana (practice text), mudras (hand gestures), torma (ritual food) offerings, and how to conduct a White Tara retreat. He will base his teachings on the sadhana entitled The Distilled Essence for Practicing the Flowing River of the Moon, A Manual of Instruction for the Longevity Sadhana of White Tara, the Wish-Fulfilling Wheel. This is a strict vegetarian retreat
In accordance with kriya tantra requirements: No eggs; no smelly spices or sauces; no onion, garlic, radish, or daikon; and no animal flesh or byproducts (including meat, poultry, pork or fish) can be consumed during this program. Milk, butter, and yogurt are permissible.
Prerequisites
You must have received the White Tara empowerment from a qualified Sakya lama. Also, you must have your own copy of the sadhana. The sadhana will not be displayed on screen.

1) your full name,
2) when you received the White Tara empowerment, and
3) the Sakya lama from whom you received the empowerment.

- 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM: Practice Instructions with Lama Ngawang
- 2 PM to 4 PM: Afternoon Practice Session with Lama Ngawang.
- Q&A will be included in the afternoon session.

Home Schedule (Offline)
In addition to our time together on Zoom, you may practice the sadhana during the following sessions offline on your own. These sessions are optional but encouraged.
- 5 AM to 7 AM: Morning Practice Session
